You spend your entire life growing up, hearing about the superiority of the free market system. In the West, open markets lead to competition and that makes the economy better, because people are more motivated. And that means more disposable income and higher standard of life, and making more money.

And now your politicians are bought and sold, they threw the political system overboard while staging fake attacks so you can chase after fake enemies, all the while bankrupting the state and quite possibly leading to its destruction.

And the same people, who went on and on and on about capitalism and free markets and blah blah blah, are now too chicken s*** to say anything in protest, because that might be bad for business.

1. There is (apparently) no video of him being arrested.
2. He has made no public statement.
3. There is no video of him in a courtroom.
4. He (apparently) is being held in solitary confinement.

There is no proof that this man is aware of the charges brought against him.
There is no proof that this man even knows what happened.

Interpretation of 2001: A Space Odyssey

I'm surprised no one has mentioned one completely obvious interpretation -- the movie is an exploration of how human beings mark time. Space time imagery and references occur repeatedly, for example moon base "Clavius" could be a reference to the astronomer Clavius who was instrumental in the shift starting in 1585 from Julian calendar to Gregorian. Then something is dug up on the moon pointing to Jupiter, planet named after a god of Ancient Rome which used a lunar based system. Even Dr. Smyslov or whatever his name was uses phrases like "epidemic" and "unknown origin". Then HAL (reference to IBM, bookkeeping?) goes wacko on the trip to Jupiter, thus representing what happens administratively if you switch calendars. It must be this gigantic mess if you think about it.

Ironically, the actual year 2001 is most associated with the date 9/11... perhaps we could use a new discovery mission to figure out what happened? This story doesn't make any sense, Dr. Floyd....

9/11 truth

Let's review a few facts, more or less agreed upon by both sides. (Anyone who even remotely understands physics can see that the 3 buildings on 9/11 did not collapse due to fire and gravity, but I will skip that part for now.)

1. Before 9/11, no tall building had ever collapsed due to fire. Then, miraculously, 3 on the same day according to NIST.
2. The temperatures at ground zero were higher than what you would get from jet fuel and office fires. The fires burned for 3 months, hot enough to melt steel.
3. The collapse of WTC 7 was known before it happened. Firefighters cleared the area. There are firefighters on record saying that the building was going to be brought down.
4. NORAD is supposed to maintain air sovereignty over the U.S. and Canada, to detect things like enemy intercontinental ballistic missiles and fighter aircraft. Yet on 9/11, it was unable to track an American made commercial aircraft, taking off from an American airport, and crashing into the headquarters of the American military -- almost a full hour after planes had already crashed into the WTC towers. As a result of this glaring incompetence, no one was fired or even reprimanded.
5. The only available video evidence of the Pentagon attack is several frames of an inconclusive white streak going into the facade of the building. All other video evidence has been seized by the FBI.
6. There is no visible evidence of a plane crashing at the Shanksville site.
7. There was a preponderance of military drills held on 9/11, that eerily resembled the actual attacks.

Now, people on the side of the establishment say that the burden of proof lies with conspiracy theorists to prove the government is lying. How did we end up being such weak-minded zombies? The government (whatever that is) used 9/11 to start two wars, to kidnap and torture, to shred the legal system and constitution. It used 9/11 as carte blanche to do whatever it wanted in the name of national security. The burden of proof was on them, not us.

They played on our arrogance and fear. We take pride in being the fortunate people of the earth, and we think we are special because we are Americans. We took the bait, hook, line and sinker.
